Hey there! I’m Shannon.
Born and raised in Northwest Indiana, I grew up smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Chicago along with the calm of the Indiana Dunes. I believe this Jekyll and Hyde environment played a role in my approach to marketing and design: intentional urgency.
I am a firm believer in forward progress with the caveat that there is a rationale behind the decisions. A previous boss often reminded me to not let perfection get in the way of progress and I remind myself of that often (as does my post-it note on my desk).
I love:
White space
Clean lines
Tracking (or stalking) analytics
Finding the perfect font combination
I avoid:
A position without KPIs
Too few (or too many) eyeballs
Unintentional design decisions
The statement: “that’s how it’s always been done”
A few fun facts…
I love to read. I acquired a minor in literature accidentally after taking so many lit classes to boost my necessary credit requirements. As Bob Ross would say, it was a pretty happy accident. Eventually, I would love to combine both my passion for design and literature and get into designing book covers.
Aside from books, I have never met a dog I don’t like, I love trying new foods and traveling anywhere and everywhere, I work hard to support small businesses wherever and whenever I am able, and I have one kickball championship under my belt (going for two in 2023). I have been to 50+ concerts over the last two years. I have zero ability to create music, but I have an uncanny knack for attending an ungodly amount of live music.
Most importantly, I have a sidekick named Buddy (see below). He was a regular at the dog daycare I managed during college, and (to make a long story short) I adopted him so he wasn’t put in a shelter. I took him home when he was nine years old, and now he is approaching 14 and has gotten comfortable with his luxurious lifestyle.
